From this week on, the emergency service 110 in Yuyao will use English to provide service for foreigners in Ningbo. This is the first time for policemen to speak English in their service. Operators speak English to communicate with foreigners and record what they get over the phone. Orders are immediately made after the phone. Policemen in 110 Center have all received training in English. After learning some simple English sentences, they can provide direct and reliable service in English for foreigners in Yuyao.

Residents in Ningbo city are quite happy to see the downfall of fruit price during the Golden Week. Apples, Hami melon and grape rank the top three of all fruits. Compared with the fruit price before the Golden Week, the fruit price now witnesses a downfall of 30 to 50 percent.

Mr. Chen, the manager of the Fruit Wholesale Market, says that it’s now the season of collecting apples. Before the Golden Week, Ningbo market was once short of apples, but now the market is full of apples and the price of apple is experiencing a downfall. The wholesale price is just 4-5 Yuan/kg.

It is said that the consumption of Hami melon is quit great during the Golden Week. About 120 tons of Hami melon can be sold out every day in the market while the number of grape sold out every day is 60 tons. The wholesale price of Hami melon and grape are repectively 3 Yuan/kg and 4-5 Yuan/kg. Other fruits are also experiencing downfall of price these days due to their abundance.

Food is what matters to people, this saying is quite popular saying in China. During the Golden Week of National Day, people in Ningbo could not resist the delicious food besides entertainment and shopping. For local residents, sea food is their favorite. Restaurants with sea food are quite popular during the golden week. Sea food stalls in Xiangshan and Shipu are very busy. There is only reason which explains residents’ visiting: enjoying sea food.

There are more than 400 varieties of fish, 100 kinds of crust animals and 80 shell animals among sea food in Ningbo. Tourists and residents in Ningbo can enjoy the most fresh sea food. Streets are filled with the flavor of sea food which attracts large number of tourists to pay a visit here.

In Fenghua, going along the bamboo paths, you will feel the flavor of sea food in wind from the sea. Just have a look at sea food stalls here; the business here is quite flourishing. During the golden week of this year, animal in zoos are also quite busy. If you have visited the Yongor Zoo, you must have enjoyed the excellent skills of such animals as goats, monkeys, bears and lions.

The first group to perform is goat and monkey. Look! They are doing their performance quite well. The monkey is standing on the back of the goat which is carefully climbing a ladder and then crossing a slender steel wire. This is of course not a easy job. Holding their breath, visitors finally see the group coming to the end of the wire. At this moment, monkey is again showing its naughtiness, grasping the goat’s horn and playing handstand.

The next performer is a female bear. What wins the warm applause from audience is her beautiful one-piece dress. After series of such regular performance as slam dunk, riding a bicycle, playing a seasaw and walking on stilts, Miss Bear is now crossing hurdles although she is apparently not so skillful.

The last group is lions and tigers. They are regarded as VIP among animals. Once set free from cages, they immediately make threatening gestures, which scares all audience here. They are not skillful enough to walk on steel wires, but they can jump across fired circles and paper walls, which also amazed all the audience.

After a25-day journey, a bronze statue named David arrived at Daxie. It was brought to Ningbo City on the 3rd of October.

David is a gift presented by Florence Municipal Government. More than ten artists had worked on the statue, which has the accurate size of the real marble statue. David is 5.5 meters high. To welcome this distinguished guest, Ningbo Municipal Government held a welcome ceremony in Daxie. Yu Danhua, the vice secretary of Ningbo Municipal Government, signed his name on the reception book.

In order to guarantee the smooth reception of the gift, David, the relevant departments gave up their holiday leave. Customs, Quality-supervision Department and the Dock in Daxie cooperated to complete all procedures to receive the gift. it is said that the relevant department of the government has been carefully choosing the site where David will stay.

Dr. Chen Wenfei, the vice director of Event Office of Ningbo Government said, 'The choice of the site will be in accordance with the overall planning and management of Ningbo city. We will make a new tourist attraction by taking advantage of David. Another element we will take into our consideration is that David should be in harmony with its surroundings. Before this year’s Fashion Festival, we will definitely decide the site.'
